In honor of the 2019 Farmington High School graduation, we’re highlighting a few of this year’s outstanding graduating class. Today’s Senior Spotlight is: Hunter Conrad!

Hunter is a pretty popular guy. He is an actor, a musician and an athlete. He was even voted Homecoming King by his peers — but that’s not why he was nominated for the Senior Spotlight recognition. Hunter was nominated for his outstanding kindness, cooperation and inclusiveness in the classroom. During his time at Farmington High School, staff members have noticed Hunter going out of his way to make sure everyone is included and able to participate. He spotlights the work of other students and advocates for them.

Hunter has been involved in Link Crew, Choir, Theater, Football and Baseball. Outside of school he is an active volunteer with his church, his sister’s figure skating club, Miracle League baseball camps, and Feed my Starving Children. He has also worked on several musical productions, both amature and professional, staged in the Twin Cities metro area.

After high school, Hunter plans to attend Minnesota State University, Mankato where he will play baseball and major in business. Here’s a little more about Hunter and his time at FHS:

All About Hunter

Favorite classes

“My favorite subject has to be English or Choir because I love creating stories and expressing thoughts and feelings.… I love Choir because it’s one of my passions and I love the sound a group of people can make with their voices.”

Favorite teachers

“My favorite teacher is Mrs. Dimich (Choir) because she has taught me a lot over the last four years I have been with her and she has helped me grow as a singer and a person. Also Mr. Pieper (Social Studies) because he is smart and passionate about teaching and he connects with his students and makes the kids feel like he’s a friend and not just a teacher.”

Favorite high school memory

“My favorite high school memory is being crowned homecoming king and also doing the musicals and meeting lifelong friends. Another one of my favorite memories is when I’m not a Serial Killer came out on Netflix, which is a movie I was in, and all of my friends and teachers thought I was joking when I told them I was gonna be on Netflix.”

Advice for future seniors

“Get involved with as many clubs and teams as you can so you can have a variety of friends. Keep up with homework and school work while also having fun with friends. Make good choices in school and outside of school. Your teachers are only trying to help you, so be respectful and ask for help if you need it.”
