In honor of the 2019 Farmington High School graduation, we’re highlighting a few of this year’s outstanding graduating class. Today’s Senior Spotlight is: Xander Smaby!

Xander is one of less than 10 students to receive the Schulze Innovation Scholarship from the University of St. Thomas this year. This highly competitive scholarship and academic program provides recipients with full-tuition for four years at the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship, the chance to work with business advisors and mentors, and the opportunity to gain seed capital for a startup after graduation. The program website says, “This one-of-a-kind experience nurtures students into innovative, entrepreneurial leaders, and helps to launch their careers.”
Smaby is currently a part of the Minnesota Center for Advanced Professional Studies (MNCAPS) program and involved in the band at Farmington High School. He credits his time in band with building persistence and his time at MNCAPS with giving him the business experience needed to earn the scholarship. We are proud of Xander’s work at Farmington High School and can’t wait to see where the future takes him!
