Spring Play Cast

On Wednesday, Farmington High School premiered it’s 2018 Spring Play, The Skin Of Our Teeth, full of humor and an unexpected and engaging concept. The three act play tackles the biblical story of Adam and Eve set in a modern, apocalyptic society.

If you’ve been looking for a performance full of witty and underlying humor, this play delivers. The cast breaks the wall quite often, referencing the audience and their make-believe world, adding to the comedic mood. “It’s definitely full of fun moments and dialogue,” said cast member Conner McCarthy, who plays Mr. Antrobus. “One could say it’s extremely metaphorical but it could also just be a weird story.”

The play is satirical and ridiculous and McCarthy enjoys that. “It’s important to stay serious when necessary,” McCarthy explained. “But being able to keep that aspect of fun is also important.” Being on and offstage has been a very rewarding experience for Conner. “Having fun with others has hands down been the best part.”

Cast members had a lot of fun preparing for the performance over the past two months. “The acting itself is fun but the idea of sharing that experience with others has been even better,” McCarthy expressed.

The Skin Of Our Teeth is directed by Ms. Beth Breiland and student director Ileri Okikiolu and is performing Friday, April 20, and Saturday, April 21st, at Boeckman Middle School at 7 p.m.
