At the March 13, 2023 School Board meeting, Superintendent Berg will recommend the appointment two new elementary school principals in ISD 192. This follows the retirement of Dr. Steven Geis from North Trail Elementary earlier this year and the upcoming retirement of Dr. Kim Grengs from Riverview Elementary at the end of the school year. 

Superintendent Berg will recommend Shawn Peck as the next principal of Riverview Elementary School. Mr. Peck's skills, abilities, and knowledge strongly align with the RVES community and our district’s strategic direction. He currently serves as the Principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in Faribault and will officially begin his position with ISD 192 on July 5, pending Board approval. "I know Shawn is well suited to support and advance the awesome learning taking place at RVES and I hope you will join me in welcoming him to our tiger community," Superintendent Berg shared in a message to families. 


Superintendent Berg will recommend the appointment of Kelly Galarneau as the next principal of North Trail Elementary School. Ms. Galarneau has been serving as the Interim Principal of North Trail Elementary and she will continue in that role through the remainder of the 2022-23 school year before officially dropping the Interim title beginning July 5, pending Board approval. "I believe she is the best person to enhance what makes the NTES learning community unique and special," Superintendent Berg shared.
